Yokohama AVID ENVigor (H- or V-Speed Rated)
Initial Review: 5,000 miles on tires

I was looking for a set to replace the underwhelming and overpriced stock Bridgestone Potenza RE92a tires. These Yokohama Avid Envigors came highly recommended by my tire guy. I contemplated going with the Michelin Primacy MXV4's which I've previously used on other vehicles--a great riding and quiet tire, but I wanted something with a bit better wet grip and with slightly sharper handling, so I rolled the dice on the Yokos. So far so good; only 5,000 miles so far, but they are quiet, have plenty of wet and dry grip, ride smoothly, are not wearing noticeably, and turn in a little better than the MXV4's. The sidewall is stiffer than the stock tires. In fact, they blow the RE92a's out of the water in every measurable category--Subaru should be embarrassed to have used those on the car from the factory. These Avid Evigors are enjoyable. We never see snow in SC, so I can't comment on winter traction. I've heard it's pretty bad for an all season tire, so that should be a consideration in colder climates. In the past I've had Yokohama tires that wore very well until the last 5-10k miles of their life. Then they got very noisy and rough riding. We'll see how these wear toward the end of their life. But with 5k on them, no complaints. Great tires!
