Pirelli Scorpion Ice & Snow
Initial Review: 500 miles on tires
January 24, 2012

Don't shake your head but I'm using my Camaro SS as a daily driver. With the winter in Iowa turning from mild to wild in the last few weeks the OEM summer performance tires left me spinning in a dusting of snow. I found a set of rims at a swap meet and purchased a set of Pirelli snow and Ice based on ratings from this website. The winter tires are fantastic! Last week we had 3.5 of snow and the car did just fine. This past Monday we had freezing rain and again these tire grabbed the road. Now keep in mind you need to drive smart because this is a car with 426 HP and no tire will stick to the road if you don't drive right. But I will tell you the Pirelli snow and ice tire is worth the money - I can't comment on how they will wear but I really don't care because they are doing the job that I purchased them for. This tire is soft with lots of sipes cut in but the side walls are stiff along with the outer edge to keep your handling stable in corners. Great winter tire, highly recommended.
