Initial Review: 50 miles on tires

My wife is amazed at what an improvement these Michelin MXV4's make compared to the OE Continental ContiPro Contact tires, which we thought were very good. The traction is improved in wet and dry conditions, and the ride is magically smooth. Much better than the Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus I paid a lot more for. Caveat: the comparison is a little unfair, since those are on a stiffer-sprung Nissan Maxima with slightly lower-profile size, 225/50R17. But now I know why the MXV4's are rated highly by the major consumer magazine - they are clearly superior. Puzzling why TireRack's comparative ratings don't bear that out so clearly - maybe it depends on what you're used to, and Michelin buyers tend to be repeat customers, so they take it for granted?
