Coming off a set of half worn Michelin Pilot Super Sports it was immediately apparent they've tuned the comfort level of the new PS4S. Not only does the 4S seem quieter on smooth pavement but also over small impacts and road imperfections. Even larger daily cringe worthy impacts are leaving me happily confused on the other side. My only complaint with the previous Super Sports is that they do ride a little firmer than other tires in their category, but it's a welcome tradeoff for the extra road feel and performance. It will be impressive if the 4S retains the same level of grip the Super Sports offer but I imagine we'll see a bump in grip metrics as well. While I haven't had many chances to push the absolute limits of adhesion of the 4S, the overall driving dynamics and signature telepathic sharpness of steering inputs certainly remain from the Super Sport. It seems Michelin has once again raised the bar and let us have our cake and eat it too.
