Anyone that drives a CR-V knows that it needs quiet tires to be a quiet vehicle. That said, I have tried three different brands on my CR-V over the years and the Michelin Defenders are by far the quietest of all of them. The Goodyear Assurance tires were awful. They rode horribly and had a constant moaning sound that drove me crazy. I then tried Yokohama Tornantes. They were fantastic up until they had about 30k miles on them and they started to sing loudly on the highway and rode roughly, so much so that I had to finally replace them. I then called Tire Rack, told them my situation, and the Michelin Defenders were recommended. Well, all I can say is that they transformed the CR-V into a mini-Lexus. It is quiet, rides and handles extremely well and my gas mileage has improved by almost 2 MPG over the Yokohamas. I'm not really concerned about the winter as the CR-V is all wheel drive and for the few times I drive in heavy snow I can handle a tire that isn't as aggressive as most others. For the other 330 days of the year when there isn't deep snow I prefer a good riding, quiet tire that is good in the rain. And man these Defenders truly deliver. I'm not sure if I will get 90k miles out of them. The CR-V is hard on tires and tends to wear them quickly, so if I get 60k out of these Michelins I will be thrilled. If you own a CR-V then look no further. Unless you live in the Arctic or use your CR-V to go off-roading, I highly recommend these tires.
