Kumho Ecsta LX Platinum
Initial Review: 35,000 miles on tires

I will try to be as unbias as possible for those who are unsure. These tires are a very good choice for the money. They handled way better and were quieter than the Goodyear Eagle RS-As that came on my Police Interceptor. I live in sunny Florida where we're known for our heavy rains and and worn roads these tires handled pretty well. No tire will prevent a hydroplane at 65mph with 2 inches of water on the road, but in heavy Florida rain they handled pretty well as long as you drive for the conditions and not like an idiot. I've seen some surveys where people said they wore out after 35k miles then you look and they're mostly city drivers. Well, tires wear out faster in the city. Remember, more corners, turns, and stops and starts creates more friction on the rubber and wears them faster. Mine were pretty well worn after 35k miles, but I was running on a bad alignment, hitting speeds that would get me arrested, and corner at 2Gs with a 3800 pound vehicle. My car said Police Interceptor on it and that's how I drove it. These tires cornered excellent, even on wet roads and as any high performance tire, were very hard and stiff until warmed up when the weather is cold (and yes it does get below freezing here in Florida too). They did lose significant traction as the tires wore out but that too is to be expected. Overall a good tire for the category and price range.
