General Altimax Arctic
Initial Review: 4,000 miles on tires
February 23, 2013

I bought 14 steel wheels and these general altimax arctic snow tires (both from tire rack) to run in winter for our 2010 honda fit. The normal wheels are 16 but at the suggestion of this site I went for a 14 wheel tire pkg. The increase in winter driving performance / confidence is huge. We get 80 - 120 of snow here, on average, and therefore drive on snow covered roads probably 25% of the time. Despite this I have never previously owned snow tires, as I've never wanted to spend the money. This car was paricularly poor in snow so I decided to make the purchase. If you own this car and want it to become a great winter car you need to consider this. I believe we will get at least three years on these tires (15K to 20K miles) before the will need replacement. I will have them on about 4 months annually.
