Firestone Destination A/T
Initial Review: 12,000 miles on tires

I love these tires. I live in the Eastern Sierra and offer a shuttle service to long distance trail hikers which means I pick up people at one trailhead where they often leave their own car and then drive them, sometimes hundreds of miles, to another trailhead where they start their hike back to where they left their car.

I have driven over all kinds of terrain, both rocky and steep, all summer long and these Destination ATs have handled everything the Sierra could throw at them. There are often long stretches of highway in between the trailheads, and in those conditions too the Destination ATs have been great. They feel smooth and give my passengers a comfortable ride while at the same time giving me excellent control and feel for the road.

And the noise cancelling design of these tires is truly a marvel! They have a pretty burly looking tread but go down the road so quietly its like you are riding on magic, I mean it, I could hardly believe how quiet they were when I first put them on. I thought maybe my ears were locked up because of all the elevation changes I had gone through. I often go up and down 40,000 feet in a day of travel to the trailheads from the valley and back. But no, there was nothing wrong with my ears, these tires just have tremendous engineering innovation behind the tread design that makes them go down the road like you are riding on cat's paws!

I have driven 14,000 miles on these Destination ATs so far, and they don't show any sign of wear yet.
