Initial Review: 1,000 miles on tires

Got these tires at the same time I went from 225/40-18 to 225/45-17 on 17x8 lightweight wheels. These tires are light too at 21 lbs ea. Ride quality has greatly improved at the same time wet and dry traction immensely improved! No more wheel spin- these just hook up and go. Most impressive is the wet traction however- been getting a lot of rain here in central Texas but these tires seem quite oblivious to it all...some highways here have 80mph speed limits so hydroplaning can be a real serious issue- these Continentals are quite confidence inspiring! Given the 340 tread wear rating these are a bargain compared to Pilot Super Sports yet give up no performance category to them. Tire Rack's local installer did a great mount, balance and alignment job too.
