Initial Review: 12,000 miles on tires

My porsche 911 had gone through 2 sets of OEM tires by around 16000 miles (rears; fronts seem to last twice as long), just terrible durability. Of course, that's how their designed, as high performance soft rubber summer tires, but still, the expense was ridiculous. I don't ever plan on driving my car on the track so ultra high performance is not important to me. What IS important is to be able to drive my car year-round, through rain and light snow, and not have to worry about traction issues, and so far so great. It's been wonderful, great traction in the rain and snow (rear wheel, drive only) and it's awesome that it cost half of the OEM price, AND to know that they'll last much much longer! And it's a bonus that they're still rated as ultra-high performance! Of course, for the diehard racers out there, sure go ahead and buy the OEMs but it'll cost you lots. And if you're tracking, well you'd probably get an extra set of wheels and tires anyway just for the track
