Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06
Initial Review: 5,000 miles on tires
January 30, 2017

I drive a 2012 Audi S4 and the tires given to me from the dealership I originally bought the car from were Bridgestone Potenza Pole Position All Seasons. Those tires were very noisy while driving had decent grip in dry and wet conditions but were AWFUL in the snow. I repeat AWFUL in the snow one slight tap on the brakes in light snow and you were skidding all over the place. I live in the Midwest and the last thing I want is a tire that cannot perform during the winter months. I had enough of them and decided to buy a new set of quality all season tires. I did some shopping around and found that Continental were OEM standards for Audi when buying a new one so I figured I'd give them a look as the Germans can't be too off the beaten path when it comes to what rubber goes on their performance sedans.

Enter the Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 Ultra High Performance All Seasons, which for the money are probably the best tires I have yet to drive on when it comes to performance all season tires. I have put roughly 5k miles on them now and the tread wear is honestly negligible. Which is saying something since I'm a pretty...Spirited driver. I have drove through every type of weather you can think of for the Midwest and the tires have performed great. The key test being in snow this winter, which I was dreading looking out my window seeing the snowfall on the ground. Much to my surprise the Continentals handled as if there were no snow on the ground whatsoever. Even took them into some deeper piles of snow just to see and they gripped and pulled me right through. Now Ice is Ice and there's nothing you can really do unless you have studded tires. In closing if you are looking for the top tier of what you can get in a performance all season tire please give these tires a chance. I'm very happy that I did and will absolutely be buying more in the future. Well whenever this set decide to actually start to fade.
