Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus
Follow-Up Review: 11,000 miles on tires
Correcting mileage from initial review:
25-26 mpg @65mph. Increase ~2 mpg over P6. Validated on recent round trip Chicago/Miami.
23.4 mpg @78mph w/ cruise control.

Have now driven in light, heavy snow, ice and extreme cold. Solid overall performance. Hydro/Slush planing noted on deeper snow - evident when changing lanes (crossing in/out of slushy lane tracks) at speed on interstate.

Excellent wet pavement grip. High traction limits that are very well communicated on both wet and dry surface. Confidence inspiring on highway entrance/exit ramps.

Acceptable in typical winter conditions but not exceptional. Would hesitate using on snow covered mountain roads w/o Audi AWD. These tires do not perform like dedicated winter tires but are solid performers if you want one tire for year round use.

Ride quality, impact absorption and road noise control are superior.

Note:
This vehicle uses optional wide, low profile 19 tires which by their nature are not well suited to deeper snow. I suspect the standard 18 size would perform better in snow/slush.
Initial Review: 3,200 miles on tires
Replacement for OEM P6. Exceptional noise and ride comfort. Improved traction in both wet and dry. Fuel economy improved 1-2mpg on hwy-27mpg@70mph. We have logged over 10- 2000+ mile hwy trips so data is reliable for my car. Steering response just average but well suited for a large sedan. Also considered Potenza RE970AS but poor winter performance . From owner feedback, RE970 appears to have higher performance but ultimately eliminated for poor winter performance(owner feedback). Serenity Plus is a great selection for the A8. Will followup after cold/snow miles accumulated.
