Best Toyota Avalon Tires

Toyota's full size sedan, the Avalon, has been a very popular vehicle for many years. Most owners hold on to their vehicle for a long time and eventually need replacement tires.

It's difficult to go wrong with a set of Michelins. And, the best choice for the Avalon is the Primacy MXV4. This top-rated Grand Touring All-Season tire does it all. Along with offering a smooth, quiet and comfortable ride, the Primacy MXV4 provides excellent year-round traction, including in light snow. The tire also comes with a 60,000-mile treadlife warranty.

If you're looking for a great performance tire, then take a look at the Continental ExtremeContact DWS. This Ultra High Performance All-Season tire has one of the highest ratings when it comes to winter traction. The ExtremeContact DWS features Tuned Performance Indicators - visible letters molded into the second rib from the outboard shoulder to alert drivers of the tire's performance levels. A visible "DWS" indicates the tire has sufficient tread depth for dry conditions, as well as wet roads and light snow. After the "S" wears away, the remaining "DW" indicates the tire only has sufficient tread depth for dry and most wet road capabilities. And after the "W" and "S" have both worn away, the remaining "D" indicates the tire has appropriate tread depth for dry conditions only.

Do you live in an area where winter / snow tires will be needed? Then look no further than the Bridgestone Blizzak WS70. I always say if you can't get through the snow with this tire, then you should just stay home. The WS70 is the fourth generation of Bridgestone WinterBiter tires designed to deliver wintertime traction and control that inspires driver confidence. Blizzak WS70 tires meet the industry's severe snow service requirements and are branded with the mountain/snowflake symbol

The ride in my 2013 Avalon Limited is pretty harsh compared to my 2007. The current tires will last about 35K miles.

What tire will give me an improved ride, better wear, and retain some of the sporty character?

Jim, Take a look at the Continental PureContact with EcoPlus Technology or Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus:

the tires on my 2013 Avalon Limited are very noisy. They are a low profile 225/45/R18. I believe that is what came with it from the factory. They also provide a very firm ride
What can you recommend as an alternative. My 2008 Avalon Ltd road much nicer than the 2013

Don, A Grand Touring All-Season tire in size 245/45R18 will give a more comfortable ride. We would recommend the Pirelli Cinturato P7 A/S Plus:

My 2010 Avalon has a lot of road noise. I have used the original Michelin's Primacy MXV4 as suggested twice and the second set was not any better than the first. Any other suggestions for QUIET riding?

Gary, Take a look at the Pirelli Cinturato P7 A/S Plus:

This is very helpful. I have a 2013 Avalon Ltd Hybrid and am disappointed with the original and replacement Michelin Primacy MXV4 tires, each set lasting ~25,000 miles despite regular service at the Dealer and normal usage. Do you still recommend the Pirelli Cinturato per your 8/12/16 reply?

Barbara, I would still recommend the Pirelli as one of the very best touring style tires on the market. --

I have a 2007 Avalon 110000 runs great but cant keep tires on it. If I am running "b" tires what about going to a "d"?

Jack: If you have the size 215/55R17, the longest treadlife tire you can use on the Avalon would be the Michelin Defender H+S with an 80K treadlife warranty. Click here for current pricing:

Don't need winter traction. Looking for fuel efficiency and smooth ride. What does "touring" mean? Would I want such a tire?
Tuesday, May 29, 2018 by Tire Rack Team

Stephanie Holloran, touring tires generally are tires designed for ride comfort and longevity first. Some of these will have some low rolling technology as well. Most are all season any more so even if you do not need winter traction, if you need longevity you will want an all-season tire.
