Introducing Bridgestone's Blizzak DM-V2: The Tire to Beat for Winter 2015?

For the past several years the Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V1 has been our highest consumer rated tire among a strong field of competitors in the Studless Ice & Snow (Light Truck) market. While it seems illogical to discontinue such a well liked product, history has proved that the Blizzak line of tires seem to evolve and rarely, if ever, take a step back. While the DM-V1 impresses with deep snow and ice traction abilities, its low speed rating makes it feel loose in corners and doesn't inspire much confidence in the dry. The newest generation Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V2 aims to maintain the traction ratings for which its predecessor is loved and improve upon other aspects that make the tire a bit more livable on a day-to-day basis.

Following closely the footsteps of the Blizzak WS80 passenger tire, the DM-V2 has an increase in siping, a more tied together tread pattern for dry road stability and a speed rating that makes it competitive in an expanding market place.

Winter tire testing is under way at our local ice rink and a full report will be published with our findings.
