What Size Rims or Wheels Fit My Car?

Upgrading the wheels on a car is one of the most popular modifications drivers like to make. It allows you to add a personal touch, while also helping it stand out in a crowd.

What wheels will fit on your car? Simple. Just use our shop by vehicle feature and we'll show options that are guaranteed to fit your vehicle. In some situations, our site will also let you know if a modification to the vehicle is needed for the wheel to fit. This message will appear under the "Important Notes" section. Situations like this are likely to occur with trucks where a lift kit is used. To ensure the wheel is a perfect match for your vehicle, we measure or verify many items, including:

  • Bolt Pattern
  • Centerbore Diameter
  • Hub Diameter
  • Load Capacity
  • Lug Hardware
  • Suspension Components Clearance

Once you have selected your wheel, the next step is choosing a set of tires that's best for how and where you drive. If you select a wheel diameter that's different than the Original Equipment, you may need a new set of tires. You can shop by size to help you find the tires that are right for your application.

For more information on selecting the proper wheel, read "What is Wheel Offset and Backspace?"

I have a 2009 toyota matrix S with 16'' steel wheels and want the look of a stock alloy wheel. I found a set of 16'' alloys from a 2004 and was wondering if it would fit my car. Also i found a set of 17'' matrix wheels already set up with tires from a 2005 matrix. I've looked up the bolt patters and it says that every matrix make has the same bolt patter but the listing said that the wheels would only fit a 2003-2008 model

Hello I have a 2009 Jeep Wrangler unlimited X. Im putting a 2.5 in lift so that I can fit 35" tires with 20" rims on it. So I was going to order some 20x12.5r20 Tires as well as some 20" wheels with the 5x5 bolt pattern that my car has. The only thing I is before I order I have no idea about the offset or backspacing. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Tuesday, March 31, 2015 by hunter

Hi CJ,
When you are shopping for wheels on our website for the Jeep, there will be an important note link for each wheel. It will give some fitment guidance in relation to the offset/backspace of that wheel.

I have a 255/35/19 tire on a 19x8.5 rim. It's a 2014 Audi S4 but I am not sure of the offset on the OEM wheel. 1) will a wheel that is 19x9 with a 52mm offset fit and 2) would that half inch wider wheel require new tires?

Hi JM,
What wheel on our website are you looking at? I am happy to validate those fitments for you.

I have a 2012 mazda3 with 16" wheels. I want to downsize to 15" wheels to get a smoother ride. So far I've found wheels and tires that work (15x6.5 5-114.3 & 195/65R15) but am having a tough time finding the right offset. How much difference in offset can I have before there are negative effects? right now the offset is either +50 or +53.

Hi Kat,
You can view the range of offsets for products Tire Rack sells as well as pricing by using our shop by vehicle tool.

Hi. I have a 1970 Pontiac Catalina and I am having a heck of a time trying to figure out what offset is required. I also cant find any information on how wide the rim can be if I go with 22" rims. The car is drum brakes front and back. Thanks for any info you can provide. Ryan

I have bought some new 18' x 8.5 rims for my 2001 dodge ram 1500 4wd and was wondering if goodyear duratrac 275/65/r18 tires would fit - the truck does not have a lift and I am putting on 1.5" wheel adapters to fit the trucks bolt pattern - any info would be greatly appreciated ( if they'll fit and if turning would be an issue)
Monday, February 8, 2016 by hunter

Hi Alex,
Unfortunately, I am not able to determine if that will work or not. We do not work with wheel adapters so not sure how that will impact the fitment. Maybe the wheel adapter manufacturer can help with that.

I have a 72 SS nova with 14x7 in rims with 205/70/14 tires......I would like to put 15X7 in rims with 215/70/15 tires in the rear only will they fit inside the rear finder
Monday, March 14, 2016 by hunter

Hi Ron,
215/70R15 is taller than original size by a good margin, I would not be able to confirm that fitment. You would probably have to test fit it to be sure.

I purchased a wheel and tire package from Tire Rack for a 2012 Jeep Patriot Sport with 235/60-16 Geolandar tires. I purchased the T10 Sport Tuning wheels with the following dimensions:

16"x 7.5
Offset: +38
Backspacing: 5.75"
Bolt Pattern: 5-114

I was wondering if these wheels will fit a 2009 Jeep Wrangler X.

When are you going to test 19 inch wheels for fitment on the 15-17 Chrysler 200? These are factory installed (optional feature), not something custom. I can get them elsewhere, but would rather deal with TireRack.
Thursday, August 10, 2017 by Tire Rack Team

Unfortunately none of the wheel manufacturers we represent offer a 19” wheel to fit the Chrysler 200.

I Have a 2013 Ford Focus titanium and I want to know if the following tires will fit to my car

Tuesday, November 28, 2017 by Tire Rack Team

Javier: That would be over an inch taller than stock, would likely rub when you turn the wheel all the way.
Tuesday, December 19, 2017 by Shane

I have a 2016 buick verano rite now im running P225 50 R17 all season tires on factory rims and want.to change over to winters on tha factory rims just wondering what all sizes i can run on them thank you
Thursday, December 21, 2017 by Tire Rack Team

Shane: You could run a little narrower tire for winter. 215/55R17 would help with the deeper snow. One we recommend is the Bridgestone Blizzak WS-80. Click here for current pricing: https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Bridgestone&tireModel=Blizzak+WS80&partnum=155HR7WS80&vehicleSearch=false&fromCompare1=yes&affiliate=GU9

Will 215/60/R16 tires that are mounted on Sport rims fit on my 2010 Honda Accord that is currently using the same size tires. What I’m really wondering is whether the Sport rims they’re on will fit on my Honda.
Thursday, December 28, 2017 by Tire Rack Team

Peter: It may be best for you to confirm with Honda. We can confirm fitments on the wheels we carry, but not original equipment.

Will 18 inch rims fit on my 2005 Toyota Corolla S?
Monday, March 12, 2018 by Tire Rack Team

Arnold carganilla, yes, you could use 18-inch wheels on your Toyota Corolla S. The tire size then would be 215/40R18.

Follow the link to see the wheels we carry for your 2005 Toyota Corolla S:

I have a 1990 Chevy Silverado lowerd front 4 back 6 I have 15'' 5 star craggier with front 245 60 15 back 255 60 15. bolt pattern is 5.5

I would like to go some what bigger and run 245/55/ ? tire no smaller what size rim would work and do I need to get wheel adapters to do this .

Do you think 19'' rims with 245/55/19 bolt pattern 120 with wheel adapters would be safe and fit ?
Tuesday, April 10, 2018 by Tire Rack Team

MIKE, the 245/60R15 is 26.6 inches in height, the 245/55R19 is 29.6. We generally do not recommend wheels spacers. You may just want to put your Silverado in our wheel search and see what is available, keeping in mind with the modifications you have you will still need to do a test fitment.
Thursday, April 19, 2018 by ESP1138

I have a 2003 Cadillac CTS with 18" wheels and tire size 255/45 ZR18. Is there a better tire size? Is this my only size option? Is 18 inches safely acceptable for this car?
Wednesday, April 25, 2018 by Micah

I have a 03 nissan altima stock 255 55 17 im wanting to put 20s on my car but the tires that are on the rims rub my wheel well 245 45 20 is the 245 35 a good option to go with
Monday, April 30, 2018 by Tire Rack Team

ESP1138, we recommend the 225/45R18 for your car. The 255/45R18 is bigger than we would have guaranteed would fit but if it works on your car then you know it works.
Monday, April 30, 2018 by Tire Rack Team

Micah, we do not recommend the 20-inch for your 2003 Nissan Altima and the 245/35R20 would still be a little taller than we could say will fit without rubbing but it might work, just make sure you look for XL load tires as you will likely need it to carry the load.
