Best Replacement Tires for Your Honda Pilot

The Pilot is Honda's largest SUV. While sharing platforms with the Odyssey minivan, it broadens appeal to the group of families that just don't want a minivan, but still need the room and flexibility. The current model has been on the road since 2009 and is viewed as a success both critically and commercially. The 245/65R17 size in extremely popular, but you should be aware that an 18" option is also available. Be sure to double check which size you need before ordering.

We executed a test involving three tires that are all offered in the Pilot's size. This allows a great glimpse into the capabilities in a head-to-head environment. We deploy identical, except in color, Porsche Cayennes to test on wet and dry tracks, as well as on public roads.

The Continental CrossContact LX20 with EcoPlus Technology took top honors overall by a small margin. The Continental was found to be really strong in the wet traction and ride quality categories. Pirelli's Scorpion Verde All Season Plus was a very close second. With a similar ride quality, the Pirelli excelled in the snow traction testing in comparison to the Continental.  In third place, we find the Hankook Dynapro HP2 with a more attractive price point. It struggled a bit in the wet testing part of the evaluation, and did not provide the same level of ride quality. However, it did beat the Continental in the snow portion of the test.

honda pilot 2009 winter tire and wheel the best tire 22 inch

Kassahun,

The only 22" winter tire we list for an 09 Pilot would be the Pirelli Winter Scorpion. As far as a wheel for winter we'd recommend any one that is completely painted as that will hold up the best.
