Snow tires and wheels for your Porsche 911? We can do it!

Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3DSport Edition Cup 3Do you love your Porsche so much that you're willing to subject it to a little snow and sleet? We've got the right combination of wheels and tires to get the job done!

Using our Sport Edition Cup 3 replica wheels, we can equip most 911 models with a narrower tire out back to help with snow and ice traction and still maintain factory required overall tire diameters and wheel offsets.  The original equipment rear wheels are usually too wide to accept most common snow tire sizes, so we use a slightly narrower wheel instead.

Recently I had a customer outfit his C4s with the Cup 3 wheels and Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3D snow tires (225/40-18 and 265/35-18) with great results! The wheels are designed to reuse the Porsche center caps and lug bolts for a "factory" look that works perfectly.

Hello, I have a 2003 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa. I am seeking a suggestion for tires and wheels for winter driving. I last had Blizzak LM-25V 255/35R18 94V rear and in the front 225 40R18 92V. Please advise Eric

Dear Eric, Thanks for your question. For your application, we can revert back to the "base mode" tire sizes of 205/50R17 in front and 255/40R17 in the rear using the Cup4 wheel and Pirelli W240 SnowSport tires. In 18" we would be the same tire as the package in my blog, just with the Cup4 wheels instead. Please reference the links below for more information on the wheel and tires, and rememeber that when we sell a wheel and tire package the tires will come mounted and road force balanced on the wheels ready for installtion using your existing wheel bolts; Sport Edition Cup4 wheel ; Pirelli W240 SnowSport; Dunlop WinterSport 3D;

I am trying to find a winter wheel/tire set for my 2003 Porsche 911 Turbo and it appears that both of the Porsche "Approved" winter tires (Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3D and Pirelli Winter 240 Snowsport are not available in your website. Can you comment please.

Thank you in advance for your help,

Hi Vincent, I am filling in for Doc. The Pirelli and the Dunlop are missing the front size 225/40R18. It looks like they will not be making them for this winter season. Bridgestone Blizzak LM60, while not a Porsche OE tire, will still work and are in stock in the proper sizes. --ben@tirerack

Dear Howard,

Thanks for your question. We have yet had the new 2013 model into our tech center for measurement, so I cannot guarantee any fitments as of yet. We hate to assume that the 2013 model will have the identical brakes and suspension as the 2012 (which we have inspected) for fear if something has changed for 2013 our existing recommendations may not work. We hope to have the new car available to us within the next 30 days, and will update the website once we have fitment information. Thanks for your patience.

HI - I have a Porsche 911 4S. It's an all wheel drive. I'm looking for snow tires. Can you mnake a recommendation?

I have 17" rims on my 2003 911 and after reading your blog on snow tires am wondering what tires you recommend if I use some older 15" x 7" rims to get that narrower, higher sidewall snow tire option on my car?

Depending on what sizes you need, we normally can offer the Pirelli Winter 210 SottoZero or the Michelin Pilot Alpin PA3. Both are performance oriented tread pattern to maintain a "sporty" feel but with some cold weather capability.

Hi, I have a 2001 911 Turbo and Im looking for a winter wheel/tire package. What would you recommend?

To fit the Turbo, we'd use the Sport Edition Cup4 wheels ( and use a 225/40R18 and 265/35R18 combination of sizes for best results.

Hi, can you recommend a snow tire and size for the 2012 Carrera 4 GTS? Thank you!

2006 Porsche Carrera 4S, looking at snow tires and rims. Price and options.

Sadly, we do not have specific measurements on your specific model and as a result would not have any guaranteed fitments to offer. If you are anywhere close to our South Bend (IN) location, we'd love to take a look at the car and figure it out.

Assuming you did not need TPMS sensors, our best package would include the Sport Edition Cup4 wheels and the Dunlop Winter Sport 4d tires in 17". Total would be $1,384.00 plus shipping, but if you get the order in by Dec. 31 2014 there is a total of $110 in mail in rebates available. For optional wheel and tire sizing its best to call in due to a large variety.

I have a 2003 911 C4S and would like suggestions for:

1. All season tire
2. Winter tire

Assuming you are using the stock tire sizes (225/40R18 and 295/30R18) we will be out of luck on both fronts' none of our vendors offer a dedicated all season or snow tire in the rear 295/30R18 size. We'd have to have to do a set of (narrower) wheels and tire to get some options. Best to call in if you can due to the variety of options
