The people have spoken, and we're listening. There's been a lot of buzz in the last few years about Falken's Azenis line of tires -- especially among driving enthusiasts whose interests involve endurance racing (ChumpCar, 24 Hours of LeMons). So, it's finally here, the Falken Azenis RT615K.
The Falken Azenis RT615K comes just in time for the summer driving season, filling a gap that has existed for many years in our lineup of Extreme Performance Summer tires in fitments that were difficult to find, like 235/40R18 and 315/30R18. It has also been a favorite of the tuning crowd for its tread design, aggressiveness and availability in sizes preferred by drivers of those types of cars. The tire features a high silica content compound that enhances drive-ability in both wet and dry conditions, large shoulder blocks for improved cornering ability and notched tread blocks and grooves for wet traction and water evacuation.
Word on the street is that the Azenis RT615K has similar wear characteristics and performance as the much-acclaimed Bridgestone Potenza RE-71R. If that's proven to be the case, we have a strong contender for best-in-class in this year's summer driving testing. It's available in 19 different sizes, ranging from 14" to 18" sizes with the possibility of adding more sizes in the future.
We will be testing the Falken Azenis RT615K in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for the results.
