Michelin Pilot Super Sport ZP Offered for Your C6 and C7 Corvette

The Michelin Pilot Super Sport was the tire that set the bar for all other Max Performance Summer tires upon its introduction. Never before could a tire from this performance category give you such excellent grip in the dry and wet, and wear about 30% longer than its leading competitors, while also giving you a smooth and quiet ride. This tire can do it all and the Michelin Pilot Super Sport ZP (Zero Pressure) is now the Original Equipment (O.E.) tire on the new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray.

The C7 Stingray's tire sizes overlap with the previous generation C6 Corvette, and according to Michelin, the new Pilot Super Sport ZP can be installed on C6 model Corvettes when installed in sets of four. This run-flat version of the Michelin Pilot Super Sport adds the initials "ZP," which designates the tire as Zero Pressure or run-flat capable. Michelin's Zero Pressure Technology reinforces sidewalls by adding run-flat inserts that allow tires to temporarily carry the weight of the vehicle in the event a puncture results in complete loss of tire pressure. The Pilot Super Sport ZP is designed to allow Corvette drivers to continue their journey for up to 50 miles at up to 55 mph.

Michelin Pilot Super Sport ZP tires employ an asymmetric tread design that features a low-void outboard shoulder for cornering while their notched center ribs and inboard shoulder promote high-speed performance in dry conditions. Wide circumferential grooves and lateral notches help channel water through the footprint to maintain wet traction.

If you own a C6 Corvette and use the standard 245/40ZR18 front and 285/35ZR19 rear, consider switching to the Michelin Pilot Super Sport ZP for improved traction, treadlife and comfort over your current run-flat tires.

Do you know when you will have the PSS and the PSC2 in the sizes that the new 2015 Z06 will use? My corvette was delivered with a tire wheel combo identical to the new tire sizes to be used on that car. My intent is to upgrade when they become available.
