Tire Offerings for Subaru Vehicles

Subaru vehicles like the Outback, Forester, Crosstrek and Impreza are fantastic. They offer amazing capabilities with their race-inspired Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system, while also achieving great fuel economy. These two items are critical when choosing a tire option for your Subaru.

One of the current top tires for the Outback, Forester and Crosstrek is the Continental PureContact with EcoPlus Technology which provides great all-season traction with a focus on wet weather traction and low rolling resistance. Another top option is the new Michelin Premier A/S, which holds industry setting tread design and compound with Michelin's Total Performance technology. If you prefer Bridgestone tires, take a look at their Turanza Serenity Plus that has a very nice ride quality, low rolling resistance technology and a generous treadlife warranty.

If a more performance orientated tire for your Impreza WRX is what you're after, check out the new Yokohama ADVAN Sport A/S, Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 and Continental ExtremeContact DWS. If you're a driver who is going to drive on all-season tires year-round and winter traction is a concern, the Continental ExtremeContact DWS is a crowd favorite with over 40 million miles of customer survey feedback

While the Subaru all-wheel drive system is amazing, a winter tire can greatly enhance its winter capabilities. The new Bridgestone Blizzak WS80 and Yokohama's iceGUARD would be great options for a Subaru vehicle.

One thing to keep in mind is with the all-wheel drive system, all four tires must turn together, match tread design and be within 2/32" tread depth of one another. When one tire spins faster than the others with a different tread depth or tread design, binding issues arise within the drive line.

If you need to match a tire to the rest of your set's tread depth, consider utilizing our tire shaving service. This allows you to match tread depths of partially worn tires, saving you money by not needing to purchase four new tires because one tire is compromised.

I need new tires for my 2002 Subaru Outback. I live in a small mountain town so I need tires that will be great in the winter, great for dirt roads, in town travel, as well as long distance driving. I am a first time buyer and don't want to get the wrong kind or get ripped off. Any tips/ guidance would be very appreciated. Thank you!

Jessica,

If you have the 225/60R16 on your Outback, I would recommend the Continental True Contact for one of the highest rated all season tires for winter traction and long tread life: https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Continental&tireModel=TrueContact&partnum=26TR6TRUEC&vehicleSearch=false&fromCompare1=yes&affiliate=GU9
