Yokohama tires were introduced to the United States in 1969, but have been produced since 1917. Personally, I've been using their products since 1998. There are three basic families of Yokohama tires: ADVAN, AVID and Geolanders.
The ADVAN line was introduced to the U.S. market in 2005 and has been widely popular and successful in the performance world. Their newest member is the ADVAN Neova AD08 R which resides in the Extreme Performance Summer class. The AD08 R combines excellent dry traction with impressive wet traction for that warm weather driver who demands fast and fun driving.
AVID tires stand tall with the AVID ENVigor and AVID Ascend. The AVID ENVigor combines the feel and handling of a sport tire with a touch of all-season capability. It works very well for performance based drivers who require four season traction. A new tire to the AVID family, the Ascend, combines long treadwear, low rolling resistance and all-season traction for those who place more emphasis on ride comfort and treadwear.
Finally, Geolandar tires fulfill the needs of light truck and SUV owners. The Geolandar H/T-S G051 has been widely popular and affordable since its debut in 2002. It appeals to the light duty pick-up truck and SUV owner looking for a more comfortable ride, handling and year-round traction.
