These tires have been outstanding in all conditions. Snow traction has been phenomenal especially after one of the worst winters in 10 years. Wet traction very good. Tires were quiet but have gotten louder lately due to some uneven wear. Regardless of the other reviewers ill-guided opinions, I don't blame this on the tires, it was due to my car's alignment.

Don't let the fact that some drivers don't care for their cars and/or strike fixed objects reflect poorly on the tires they purchased.

I am purchasing a set for the wife's new Focus and I will be getting a new set for my car before the winter.

Bought these tires and am extremely pleased with the responsiveness. I was thinking my car need suspension work but once these tires were installed, I felt as if I had a brand new car. My ride was oh so comfortable. We had an interesting winter in NC, so I have gotten to try out these tires in the rain, snow and a few ice storms. Now granted my Subaru is excellent with it's all wheel drive, but in the last ice storm, I was driving with no problem and passed up the snow plow AND the police car!, I only have 5k on them and hoping they last as long as stated but so far they are Excellent. Am so happy I went with the Purecontact.

I choose this tire for its ride quality that has been reported and the low rolling resistance the tire offers in hopes for better MPG. I put winter tires on the car 2 days after I purchased it and comparing my MPG to the winter tires, my mpg has INCREASED by about 4mpg average. During the break in period, the tire did ride a little rough but has smoothed out considerably. It is a very quiet and smooth riding tire after about 1500 miles of use. Dry and wet traction is very good and I anticipate the tread wear will be good as well. I would recommend the Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus tires to anyone.

I looked for a few weeks for a good tire that will be able to put up with my aggresive driving and be smooth and quite. I FOUND IT... The Pirelli Centruno P7 All Season Plus is the perfect match for me. I drove it through pouring rain and hot dry days and both the time the tire out perfomed by old noisy GoodYear Eagle GT tires. The nose level is amazing.. it feels like my car is not even making contact with road. And the best part.. with my old tires I was getting 22 mpg on my current commute of 22 miles highway 8 miles city driving; however, now I get over 28 mpg... a 6+ miles improvement. I strongly recommend this tire to anyone looking for a quite touring tire. I have not tried his in snow, but can't wait until winter time.. I'll update the review at that time.

So far I am very pleased with this tire choice. They ride and drive very well on wet and dry roads, smooth and quiet. They handled the copious snowfall we had last winter beautifully, and to top it off, they look great on my 4Runner. They give the illusion of an aggressive off road tire, but without any of the noise or rough handling. I couldn't be more pleased so far.

May 22, 2014

I bought these tires to replace a set of the Avid ENVigor's that I thought were awful. They were the noisiest tire I have ever owned, and only lasted 48k miles on a 60k warranty. I was hesitant to buy a similar line and looked at buying the Hankook Ventus S1 Noble2. After comparing them to the Avid Ascend's, I gambled and went with these due to the longer 75k mileage expectancy, and the deeper treads. So far, I am beyond happy with these tires. The ride noise is MUCH, MUCH lower. The ride is very comfortable, and feels brand new. The steering response has been great. I have driven them in a good downpour and they were great. No snow or ice yet as its going into summer where I live. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase. 200 miles isn't that much, but the improved noise and ride comfort was so much better, I wanted to post this. I will continue to update as I put more miles on them and when I am able to get some winter driving in.

HUGE improvement over the OEM Michelin run-flats. With the run-flats, it was like trying to run a 100 yard dash while wearing galoshes. The Dunlops restore the ability to enjoy the spirited performance native to BMW's (yes, even a 6,000 pound X5 SAV).

Treadwear has been a pleasant surprise -- now at 32,000 miles, and have probably 10,000 more to go before prudent replacement. (The OEM Michelins were at the wear bars at 25,000 miles.) Only negative - we got some snow this winter, and they were not great in anything over an inch or two. But in northern Alabama, that is such a rare occurrence as to be insignificant. Up north, where I used to live, I'd probably swap these out in the winter for some dedicated snow tires.

Bottom line -- if you have OEM run-flats on your BMW, UPGRADE to these Dunlops, and get superior performance for less than half the price. Highly recommended!!!

For the winter this tire is the best tire I have ever bought. I bought these tires for winter driving only. The one problem with these tires is on dry pavement and when you have the transfer case in Auto or 4 wheel the front tires fight against the rear tires causing a popping sound and feel in the front end. I have taken it to my auto dealer and had the front differential and transfer case torn apart and inspected and found no problems. The dealer put on some less aggressive tires and there was no popping sound. With these tires you need to drive in 2 wheel when you are on dry pavement.

VERY HAPPY with these. Hot/sunny SoCal desert 24/7 and a few months Tahoe snow/ice. 3 yrs and 50k miles later time for 4 more. Some superficial cracking on the sidewalls and where the tread meets the sidewall but no other problems. I wonder if I had treated them regularly with tire conditioners or if it was kept in a garage or in a shaded parking spot if the cracking would not have occurred. Kept tire pressure per placard on the vehicle. Have also taken them on the beach and on a few fire/very bumpy dirt roads- quite a few very bumpy from the wind making "waves" in the desert sand/dirt roads/back roads/desert trails too! Tire cables in winter were not a problem either. No slipping, no squealing.

I run a dedicated winter tire on this car, so deep snow rating is not applicable. These tires replaced a set of Bridgestone Potenzas, And I was impressed enough with the performance to install a set on my 1985 Porsche 944. They will also be the next set of tires on my 2009 Lexus RX350. Tread wear has been FANTASTIC. After 15,000 miles D W ans S wear indicators are all still clearly visible. I highly recommend these tires!

Initial Review, 10,000 Miles on Tires
June 04, 2014

The Lexus CT200h is the Lexus version of the Toyota Prius. The Prius has been noted as being terrible in the snow. I was concerned, but bought the car anyway, figuring that snow tires would make a difference. They have made a HUGE difference. The car has a continuously variable transmission CVT, and I don't know how that relates to Traction Control. But I can tell you my experience on the road with it.

This last winter in Chicago was difficult. LOTS of snow, wet slidey snow, packing so that it was slippery at stops. I drove early in the morning and late at night, before the plows had a chance to clear the streets. I was driving on virgin snow, deep 6" - 8" and more when it drifted. The car drove solidly all winter. I NEVER got stuck, I NEVER had trouble starting out, even if I was on a hill, NEVER had problems changing lanes at posted speeds - yes, posted speeds. I was able to easily drive through those spaces in the intersections where snow has been pushed into high drifts by the plows or passing cars. No problems. I NEVER got stuck, or had to rock my way out of a bad situation. I just drove my car. And it just took me where I wanted to go. No drama, no issues. Isn't that why you buy snow tires?

I have always been a firm believer is snow tires for winter. Spending $800 on tires and spare wheels for this car was a ---send. It drove like a tank all winter long, easily keeping up with the 4WD behemoths on the road, driving wherever I wanted. You won't be disappointed by using this tire.

These are a great 3 season tire. If you live in areas of frequent and prolonged snow/ice and I would pair these with snow tires.

I was down to getting either this tire, the Continental Extremecontact DWS or the Michelin Pilot A/S 3. At the time of purchase the Michelin had a lot or reports of a harsher ride and increased noise. The Continental had reports on the audizine forum of a weak side wall and multiple members experiencing a blown side wall. The biggest complaint on the Bridgestone was poor performance in the winter.

I have a separate winter tire for use from November to April here in Colorado. However, I did not want to use a summer only tire due to our occasional late spring snow storms and the occasional summer snow storm in the mountains. I also wanted a tire that would have better tread wear then a summer only tire.

I am very happy with this tire. The steering response is very crisp. Road noise is minimal or at least not beyond a normal level the degrades from your drive. Cornering is great when I am aggressive in the corners, off/on ramps or around the roundabouts. I have never felt more connected to the road in wet weather then I do with with this tire.

I only have two bad comments on this tire.
1) yes the winter/snow/ice ability is poor to average on this tire. If you are cautious you will do fine, but coming from snow tires and using these in one of our recent spring snowstorms and I was reminded quickly that you can't be aggressive in the snow with these.
2) I get flat spots on these when I park overnight. Its less evident when the weather is above 80 degrees F. It takes about 1 mile till the tires round out again.

Overall a great tire that I would buy again. I took off a set of Pirelli P6 all seasons with only 10,000 miles on them because they were so loud and harsh. These tires are so much better.

So this is my second set. I put 70000 on the first set and the right rear developed a slow leak. Went to the local Firestone dealer and he said these tires need to be replaced. I said they have plenty of tread. He said after 4 years the side walls have had too much sun and wear. You do not want a blow out at 80 mph. These tires have been driven close to 100 mph across Texas in the summer. They have handled Stevens Pass Washington in snow storms. They have been on soft sand in Hawaii, Washington and Maryland. I'm in the military and move a lot. Logging trails in Washington and Louisiana . Ice storms in Maryland and Washington. I carried chains in the winter in Washington, but never used them. I think the law thought I was 4x4. If I rode on sand often I'd get something else. I tow occasionally, light boats and utility trailers. They are not the quietest or smoothest tires. They do not have aggressive AT tread, but for a great all around SUV tire I think they are an awesome value. I change the oil every 5 k and rotate the tires every 10 k. Check the air about once a month. I hope to put over 250k on the Volvo. If I do I'll be on my third set of Destination ATs. I'm going to put them on my pickup as soon as the ome wear out. The ome on the Volvo didn't last 20 k. I do not own stock in Firestone.

Initial Review, 20,000 Miles on Tires
June 03, 2014

These came stock on my 2013 Genesis Coupe. Have had them for 16 months, 20000 miles. The tires have about 40% tread remaining, which is right where they should be considering that most Potenzas only have a treadlife of 26000-28000 miles. I use them primarily for daily highway/interstate travel to and from work with a little city driving. Great performance on dry roads, routinely takes cloverleaf on-ramps at 70mph, no slipping with or without traction and stability control. Not much of a loss of performance in light rain, but hydroplanes easily above 65mph in hard rain and across shallow water. It never snows here, but roads do ice occasionally in late winter, ice performance is decent as long as you keep it under 35mph. All-in-all these are good performance tires that trade treadlife for better traction. If you got your sports car to get groceries and look pretty setting in the drive way, then go ahead and replace these with an 80,000 mile tire. But if you are like me and enjoy driving your sports car like a sports car, then I would recommend keeping these tires and changing them every 25,000 miles.

"Kenny the dentist" may not be thinking about his tires while doing autocross, but I certainly am and I am amazed how much more fun these tires add to playtime. They make me look better than I am as well as giving me the confidence to try for a little more. Monday-Friday errands and commuting: No worse than my winter tires in standing water; good to very good on normal wet pavement; more smiles on every curve in good weather. A little noisy, but not out of line for this type of tire. Very sensitive to seams and crowns in the road, but I appreciate feeling what is going on. Though not an off-road tire, it is not bad on my gravel road that the city no longer has funds to properly maintain; very poor on a tiny piece of tree roots and rocks I had to go through in a parking lot. My only complaint is that I had to keep waiting to put them on this past spring--there was always one more morning with frost. I never knew a little old lady could fall in love with tires!!

Truly Disappointed!
By Teo
from USA
After coming from Michelin Pilot Super Sports in 255-45-20's on my 2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8, these Pilot Sport AS-3 255-45-20's are NOT even close! The ride noise is 65 to 75% louder than the Super Sports. They sound like a drum pounding on every tar strip/expansion joint in the highway. They sing like crazy on concrete and feel like you are riding on bricks not tires! Straight line tracking is acceptable, but hook up under heavier acceleration is an effort in futility! I have been a Michelin fan for many years, but these Pilot Sports AS-3 are a huge failure for Michelin! Purchased these tires on 05-05-2014 and I will send them back here shortly under their 30 Day Promise Plan. Bottom line is: Old School is the BEST School! Summer tires ONLY in the SUMMER! Winter tires ONLY in the WINTER! All season tires are NO tires at all!

Are Your Chrysler PT Cruiser Chrome Wheels Looking Bad and Struggling to Hold Air?

Thursday, June 5, 2014 by Zig Ziegler

Chrome wheels were a very popular option on the PT Cruiser and they made a nice addition to the retro looking car. However, most owners are now finding out that chrome is not a maintenance-free wheel and is never recommended for use in winter conditions.

Chrome wheels have no protective coating and if used in wintry conditions, or if not frequently washed, they can start to look oxidized or hazy and the chrome finish will begin to peel. This isn't only an esthetics problem, but many find the peeling causes problems with the tire sealing properly to the wheel which can cause a slow leak. Having the tire removed from the wheel and cleaning the bead area of the wheel can help in some cases, but the problem most often always returns.

We offer many low-cost options for replacement that provide a more durable finish. When replacing wheels on the PT Cruiser I recommend to use a painted or clearcoat finish in order to achieve a more durable finish which is more suitable for all-season use.

MSW Type 14

Sport Edition SE-17

RIAL Como

Some of the more popular replacement wheels include the MSW Type 14, Sport Edition SE-17 and RIAL Como. Each option is offered with a silver painted finish with a five-spoke design similar to a wheel that would have come on the car new.

If your chrome wheels aren't looking good or are having trouble holding air, shop by vehicle to find a new durable option for your PT Cruiser.
