Initial Review, 94000 Miles on Tires

Put these Michelin LTX's on at 62,000 miles & the Pilot drove like a brand new vehicle. Wet traction is incredible. During 2 weeks of ice/snow in OK 2010 winter, the Pilot became the transportation of choice due to the surprising traction that the LTX's had on snow and ice. Our neighborhood streets transitioned from powder, to hard pack, to a very bumpy solid mass of ice and we were rolling and stopping solidly while many other vehicles were sliding around (no one has the right tires for this in OK).

Tires still have 5/23 of tread remaining with 94,000 miles on them and the wet traction remains very good. Hydroplaning has never occurred with these tires. That's a critical factor for a tire on Oklahoma turnpikes which seem to hold an amazing amount of water during downpours.

I am buying new tires for our CNG powered Honda Civic today & selected the Michelin Primacy which seems to be the closest option to the LTX - we want to duplicate the LTX success on our Civic.

Summing it up - I never believed that tire selection could make a noticeable difference in drivability. After the LTX on the Pilot experience, I now know how a good tire can make all the difference.
