Initial Review, 1500 Miles on Tires
January 09, 2012

Tire Rack's test results and customer survey results are accurate: the best qualities of the DW are very good ride quality, extremely low noise, and superior wet traction. It took about 1,000 miles to break these in, before which the ride felt slightly too smooth. Since then, the drive has firmed up a notch and gotten more sporty. Remember to use Continental's Tire Selector tool on their website, which calculates the recommended PSI for your car using the DWs (33 PSI for me, 1 over the value derived from the OEMs), taking your default car metrics and load into account. I would say the DWs could do better at ultimate steering response and dry grip, so maybe you'd want to trade that against ride/noise/wet grip if you live somewhere like me, where road quality is generally good and it hardly ever, ever rains. Still, after replacing the awful OEM Goodyear RSAs, the DWs have been a really nice upgrade to make driving enjoyable once more and I'm happy with the purchase.
