Initial Review, 1350 Miles on Tires
I've been to the track three times now and these tires are simply insane :-). They are wearing quite well and evenly. This is a track car only but is driven to and from the track. Some posters complained about that the tires give no warning before the give out. Well, mine are "singing" all the time and then I back off so no problem. They are, however, extremely pressure sensitive. The Michelin website says to keep the pressure below 36 but above 32 (hot)! I tried it at Thunderhill the other day and 36 seems to be the sweet spot. When I had 34, they felt sloppy (I like crisp turn-ins) and when they shot up to 39 in one session (temp went from 80 to 95F in half an hour!) they seemed to loose traction. Don't know how many miles I'm going to get out of this tire, maybe 5000 but I think this tire is the best short of Hoosier's IF you don't have to deal with rain. And I don't care since I don't drive in the rain. Hey, I live in California :-)
