Initial Review, 5000 Miles on Tires

I have had these tires on my car for one season now. I got heavy into autocross this year and well I was running all seasons, which I was stopped after my second run of the day with my cords showing on my back tire. I wanted summer tires however in chicago, I would have to get a set of winters as well. So i started shopping wheels and tires. I ended up buying enkei rpf 01s my factory wheel is an 8" i went up to 9.5 all the way around. I went from a 225/45 18 all season good year to these 275/35 18 hankook v12. What a difference. The fist time I got on the road with them I loved them they were quite and comfurtable for daily driving, however the first time I went on the expressway it seemed like when I wanted to change lanes, my car wanted to go the other way, it was a very scary expierence, I was actually driving to a track and once I got there and started to adjust my tire pressures I found that the tire show set them to 45psi... Way to high. I was probably driving around on the center strip of the tire. After I set my tire pressures this things were amazing... camparativly speaking.

I must say they are still a little soft in the turns, on the limmit they are like a rubberband, they have a whole lot of grip untill you turn just a little too hard and then they rebound back and chunk. They do have good grip but it takes a while to know how hard you can push them. there is no good indicator as to when your grip is going to go. They are a very good tire for daily driving probably cant push them past there grip levels, however on the track they take some getting used to, it is very easy to get over confident with them and ruin a great lap time.

Like I said I have been on them for a full season, they are very quite, I have not noticed any tread wear, I probably have about 6 autocrosses on them. They did have enough grip to snap my driver side rear axel... however I am guessing that was from wheel hop more than grip of the tires
