Initial Review, 5500 Miles on Tires Tire shopping is never fun - particularly if you do your homework and lots of comparison shopping. If you're like me, you hate the prospect of feeling ripped off for 15-30,000 miles. Please recognize that for road manners- road noise, wet/dry traction and braking on asphalt- an All Terrain tire wont' compare favorably with a road specific tire. I was looking for a tire with good off-road capability and acceptable on-road behavior. I was steered to the General Grabber A/T by the local non-OEM off-road store based on it being a popular model with other jeepers who do both on and off-road driving. In fact, a seriously lifted jeep was getting 35' tires in this size the same day I bought mine. I picked these in 31' based on past positive experience with General ti and very similar tread design to BF Goodrich's A/T tire. I was prepared for some compromises in ride quality or noise. I'm pleased to report that they've been excellent. Road noise is unchanged vs my tired Pirelli A/Ts. Predictable on the highway, they track very well without any wandering and presently are perfectly balanced up to 80+MPH. I find them confidence inspiring in rain.The day I got them I drove 250 miles in midwest cyclone conditions with heavy rain and winds buffeting my Jeep from all directions as I proceeded south. What a relief to be running on solid tires with some serious tread! Offroad: I've run them a total of about 20 hours off road now aired down to 15 PSI and they've been fabulous- good on roots and rocky terrain and getting me up the incline that formerlhy required a winch while running worn tires in the past. With 5,000 miles on them no flaws have emerged. Road manners remain good and there has been no visible wear. Whitewalls are a bit scuffed. I will say that they clog quickly in mud- but you'll find that is true for any non Mud Terrain M/T tire so disregard other's comments on that point with respect to any All Terrain tire.
