Initial Review, 400 Miles on Tires So I purchased this tire because the original tires sold with a VW GTI are Pirellis and they handle fantastically. Unfortunately I heard a few things about the road noise so I had some reservations about this tire. The thrifty side of me got the better of me and so I decided to get this tire anyways. Luckily I am delighted to report I haven't noticed any kind of road noise that some other customers have reported. The tires have great dry and wet grip. I believe that these tires have probably have been upgraded so that they no longer have a road noise problem because I tested them on both city and highways drives at over 80 mph. and noticed nothing.
