Yokohama AVID TRZ
Initial Review: 40,000 miles on tires
October 20, 2012

The Yokohama Avid TRZ is a 50,000 mile tire, on my 2005 Malibu Maxx. First set was replaced pro-rated at 45K miles. Replacements are wearing at same rate. First set wore evenly (regularly rotated, of course), but all the way to 2/32 in 50,000 miles. Yokohama, when I purchase an 80,000 mile tire, I want an 80,000 mile tire. Costs extra $$ to replace at 50K, dontcha know? Other than the wear issues, for an average commuter and vacation-taker (about 3000K per summer), I thought that this was a great tire. Excellent FWD tire for snow and ice (whatever traction means when you are on solid ice . . . .) here in Minnesota. No complaints on that feature of the tire.
