Follow-Up Review: 6,000 miles on tires
March 25, 2013
Replaced Nexen Roadian HT tires with these and immediately saw improved ride/noise/handling and fuel use. First trip out of the box with these tires went on a 1,200 mile trip mostly in the rain, no problems and fuel mileage up from 20.5 to 22.6. Next round trip of 800 miles dry resulted in mileage increase to 23.5, and last tank I went 411 miles on 15.5 gallons! These tires a reassuring and quiet. No-fuss and unobtrusive best describe performance so far. I bought these tires from Tire Rack, had them installed locally and two of the four have less than 1/2 ounce weight on 18 factory wheels. If everything else goes the way I think it's going to, these tires should yield lots of miles, save lots of gas.
Initial Review: 3,000 miles on tires
January 21, 2013

Replaced a set of Nexen Roadian tires that were too aggressive and hammered mileage (18-20 mpg). Even in 20-30 mph headwind got 22-23 mpg in rain. Wet traction is not as good as expected as I have 'worn out' several sets of Yokohama tires on various vehicles and never doubted grip. These tires are quiet and not harsh on rough pavement like many LRR tires are, and Texas panhandle snow has not kept me from going places, but they don't seem to stick like past tires. That said, dry traction is not a problem and 90% of my driving is on dry roads. I bought these tires because of the Blue Earth technology and past experience with Yokohama. They are made in USA too!
