Initial Review, 2,500 Miles on Tires We purchase performance winter tires for our Prius and run them 100% of the time. We bought the Michelin's to replace a set of Blizzak WS-60 that had 45,000 miles on them. They served us very well, but after researching, decided to replace them with the X-Ice Xi3. Only after 700 miles of highway driving in good conditions, the remaing miles have been put on driving in serious snow and ice. These tires outperform the Blizzaks in every aspect and allow us to drive our 50 mpg Prius in some pretty nasty winter conditions and travel as safely or better than most vehicles on the road. I figure if I got 40 some thousand out of the Blizzaks with no warranty, the 40K warranty that comes with the Michelins is very reassuring that these will bring great overall value and safety. These tires really are impressive in their snow and ice performance. If the roads were really nasty, I would have a hard time deciding which vehicle to take...my Tundra TRD pickup with good AT tires, or the Prius with the Xi3's. They are that good.
