Given it's lineage, I expected great dry traction and got it. Also, as expected, the Super Sport is quite good on a wet road as long as it isn't too cool. What blows me away is the smooth, quiet ride. My CTS-V rides like a Cadillac with these tires, but handles like a demon. I've been into performance cars a long time and have had nearly all the hot rubber on them at one time or another. The Super Sport performs as well as any street tire I've ever had, but it's also SO smooth and quiet. You would think you're on a touring tire until you hit the twisties, which I drive a lot, living in a mountainous area. I regularly see over 1 g on my meter. When they do break away, it's gradual and not scary.
I did a track experience recently with a Ferrari F458 and noticed they're using the same tire. The driving coach said they get at least twice the mileage vs. other similar performing tires. As far as the F458 on Super Sports, I wrung it's neck and posted fastest time of the day with seemingly unlimited grip.
After 5K, I see no visible wear and expect these will last a while, even though I push the car in the twisties which are so common in the rural, mountainous area where I drive.
I've driven nearly all of the hot tires and have really liked some of them. I love this tire. By far the best performance tire I've ever driven. I couldn't be happier.
