Initial Review, 1,000 Miles on Tires

I replaced a set of Goodyear Eagle F1 DS3 Tires: Front 225/45-17, Rear 245/40-17 with the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 N3, Front 225/45ZR17, Rear 255/40ZR17 on my 2001 Dinan upgraded BMW M Roadster. I moved up to the 255 size in the rear to help better ground the car, as the M Roadster can be a little "edgy" in the turns and during high throttle. I waited almost 2 months for the tires to ship, as they were backordered.

Once installed, it was obvious that the Michelin's are perfect for the M Roadster and were well worth the wait and the money. They greatly improved the ride quality, lowered the road noise and they handle like you are on rails. These tires completely improved the driving dynamics of the vehicle.

I had a chance to put the Michelin's to the test this past weekend during a very "spirited" 2 hour drive around Bucks County, PA. I was totally impressed with the performance these tires offer. I am completely amazed how composed they remain over un-even and less than perfect road conditions. The enhanced stability alone is a huge improvement over the Eagles, as the Eagles would have me bouncing and skipping all over the place on the same exact roads. Cornering is literally point and shoot.

I am unable to comment on any wear/tear features, as they are still too new. I was only able to get 19k miles out of the Eagle's before the rear tires went bald, so anything beyond that would be an improvement. I will update this review once I have more miles logged.

At this point, it was money well spent. I regret not purchasing these tires sooner.
