I bought these to replace my General GMAX AS-03. The first thing I want to say is that you get what you pay for with these tires. They are not cheap, but don't let that scare you. I didn't think it was possible for a tire to be this sticky while providing almost touring levels of noise and comfort. Compared to the General tires that I had, these are whisper quiet and have tons more grip. Their feedback is also very nice. You can hear them chirp a little as you approach maybe 80% of their capability and you can just keep going even harder. They're extremely predictable. It's obscene the speed at which you can hit interstate clover-type interchanges with these tires, and you can do it with confidence. Honestly, the limit of these is so far beyond my Generals that I haven't even reached it on the road, which is probably a good thing.
Wet handling is impressive. The treads pump away all the water in their path and let you drive in the wet with confidence that you can still stop faster and maneuver better than any other car around you. They give you that extra margin of safety of 10-15ft shorter stopping distance compared to other all-seasons. That's enough to easily save you from a fender bender. These are not a license to drive fast in the wet, it just makes your normal drive that much easier and safer.
I haven't had the opportunity to use these in the snow, but I'm not concerned. No AS tire is really viable in real snow. As far as I have read, these Michelins are to be considered a 3 season tire in the North and all-season without snow in the South. I can't get away with a summer tire year round since the temps drop well below freezing for months at a time, but I can't justify the cost of keeping two sets of tires. It also almost never snows here so snow tires are not an option. If you live south of Atlanta or Birmingham, I'd say you might be able to get away with the Michelin Pilot Super Sports. People in Florida and SoCal, should definitely be picking that tire.
