Initial Review, 70,000 Miles on Tires
Our 2002 GMC Yukon came with Firestone tires. The inside of the Firestones wore through (metal layer showing) at about 40K miles. Since this was our first SUV we thought the 40K may have been expected wear. However, we replaced the tires with these Michelins and have gone for 6 1/2 years and 70K miles. We're moving from AZ to NY and for peace of mind (and safety) have just replaced the old Michelins with new ones (same model). I have never had a tire perform as exceptionally as these and hope the replacements are as good as the old ones. BTW, I had a bad experience in the 1970's with Firestone 500's and the original Firestones that came with the 2002 GMC Yukon were also of poor quality. I am completely sold on Michelins and would not hesitate to replace the tires on our other vehicles with this brand. More expensived, but in my experience - well worth it! Hope this helps!
