Initial Review, 51,000 Miles on Tires

I was pretty happy with this tire. Almost got a new set last fall due to harsh upstate NY winters, but decided to stretch it a bit and fortunately we had a mild winter. As a result I got another summer out of these. When I got a new set (ended up getting Goodyear Assurance Tripletreads because it was a better deal at the time) I'm guessing I still had 4-5/32's on them. IMO, not enough for winter driving up here. If I was in a more mild climate, maybe I could have seen another 10000 miles. I was hoping for excellent treadwear and at this point I'd say it was pretty good, but not excellent.

The only other possible downside to the tires may be their negative effect on mileage. It may just be the high mileage on my vehicle, but it really did seem my mileage dropped some after switching to these tires. To be fair, it was the first A/T tire I ever used on this vehicle, so that alone may have been the difference.

Traction in rain and particularly snow was excellent. I would have bought the all season version of this tire this time around if I hadn't gotten a better deal on the Goodyears. I've decided it's not worth it to go with the cheaper tires because at a minimum, you'll have the hassle of replacing the tires more often. At least that's been my experience.
