Vehicle: 2012 Chevrolet Impala LT
Miles Driven on Tires: 100
Location: Oswego, IL
Driving Condition: Combined Highway/City
Driving Style: Average
Follow-Up Review: 3,750 miles on tires
Its started with slushy sleet and then to snow, so the roads were a mush slick mess. I finally got to give these new Michelin Defenders the test. Considering the conditions, grip and traction were great. As others were spinning and sliding, these tires gripped when taking off and stopped with very little to no use of the ABS. The traction control on my car did not come on either. I am very happy with these tires. Not every tires is a good match for every car, but these tires are a nice improvement on the Impala LT. A buddy who has an 09 Impala just replaced his tires with the Defenders and he agrees on what a great tire this is.
Initial Review: 100 miles on tires
My car came with Goodyear Eagle LS-2 tires. After 5K, I started to feel this tire was hydroplaning in rain which did not give me much confidence as we are going into winter. I just put on the Michelin Defender on December 1st. On the way home, Mother nature gave some light rain as a test. The Michelin Defenders held the road like glue. They are much quieter than the GY's and the ride is better. So far, I feel these Michelin's are a major improvement. This is also my first experience at owning Michelins and so far, its a good experience.
