Initial Review: 46,000 miles on tires
October 23, 2012

I have been pleased with the Kumho Solus KR21. This is the third set of tires that I have used on this car, and this has been the best tire.

TREADWEAR: After 46,000 miles of usage, the treads measure 6/32 with even wear. At that rate, I expect them to be usable for another 25,000 miles. If that is true, I would get 71,000 miles out of the tires (versus the 85,000 mile treadlife). I do not rotate my tires. I give Subaru a lot of credit for this because after 154,000 miles on the car, I have never rotated the tires and I have never had to have an alignment done. The tires are smooth, quiet, and hold the road well.

SNOW: They are good in the snow, but I think the AWD plays a big role in the snow performance. Surely, a snow tire would do better, but I don't want to be burdened with changing tires every season.

WET: They are VERY good in wet conditions and slush.

Overall...No complaints. If you are considering buying them, go for it!
