Initial Review, 8,000 Miles on Tires This tire was mounted at the beginning of the 2011-12 winter season and I immediately noticed a pronounced increase in traction on snow and ice, even in 2wd. The other thing I noticed was it was a very quiet and smooth ride. We live in one of the coldest climates in the lower 48 and have snow on the ground for an average of 5 months.
