Follow-Up Review: 12,000 miles on tires

Several months later and this tire is as good as Day 1. Very happy with the quiet ride and noise, especially on the heavy LR3. Great tire!
Initial Review: 500 miles on tires

So as any of you LR3 owners know, tires are a big issue with these behemoths! The Goodyear Wrangler HPs that came on the car were a joke! First of all, they were so loud that I thought there was something wrong until I did my research. The last straw was last month when I had my 3 kids in the back and had a blowout on the highway. Thankfully, it was a rear tire and I was only going about 55mph, but the thing that really angered me was that the tire was completely destroyed and could not be repaired. So I did some research and went with the Kumho Road Ventures and what an immediate difference in road noise and feel! The car feels brand new and you can actually drive with the radio at a reasonable level b/c you aren't deafened by road noise! So it's only been a few weeks, but I will update on tire treadwear again...but we couldn't be happier thus far. Tirerack made ordering and delivery easy and the cost of these tires compared to the piece of crap Goodyears was night and day. I'd rather buy 2 sets of Kumhos for every set of Wranglers just for the quieter ride alone! Amazing that there are so few tires available in this size - but these Kumhos are great so far. Thanks Tirerack!
