Initial Review, 250 Miles on Tires It is difficult to write a truly objective review after only 250 miles, but my first impression of these tires is that they exceed my expectations. These were purchased to replace a set of Cooper performance tires that helped a car known for handling ('06 Mazda MX-5), handle extremely well. However the tires were the noisiest tires I have ever driven and offered an almost criminally abusive - okay, unforgiving - ride on Midwestern roads. This led to my seeking a tire that would provide a better compromise between ride, noise, and handling, and based other reviews on tire rack.com I selected the Kumho 4X. The handling in not as precise and does have more sway than the Coopers, but the tire is so much quieter and smoother when cruising I can actually have a conversation with a passenger when traveling over 25 mph - no exaggeration, this was something that was difficult to do previously. With good maintenance my hope is that the tire lasts as lomg suggested and the first first impression turns into one that is enduring. Finally, the experience with tirerack.com was excellent from the simple selection/recommendation process, shipping, selecting a local installer (I used Sears without any problems), and the receiving the rebate forms.
