Initial Review, 2,500 Miles on Tires These Kumho Ecsta 4X at 2500 miles match TireRack's test results quite accurately. They are impressive for steering responsiveness (and nicely improve steering feel on a car that can use it), and I have no complaints about their grip in dry or wet. The ride is firm but not harsh, and noise level is great on smooth pavement, but "communicative" as pavement quality degrades. Our rough concrete Pacific NW freeways are still noisy with this tire. No comments about snow traction, since we haven't had any since these were mounted, and I use Dunlop Wintersports (same size) in the winter, and its much too early to comment on treadwear. The Kumhos are slightly better for noise and ride compared to those Wintersports, and both are huge improvements over the OEM Nexens in EVERY way.
