Initial Review: 39,000 miles on tires

I had these tires on a Sonic for a one month rental during a Michigan winter. They are OK in dry and wet conditions, moderately noisy, and handle OK but they are the worst tires I have ever experienced in snow and ice. The tires had appx 5/32 remaining tread, and I found it impossible to climb even a modest hill in snow above 1-2. To travel on snowy roads, I had to drive appx 20 mph to avoid being bogged down in even modest (3) drifts. On bumpy icy roads, the car has so little traction it careened from track to track, sliding 1-2 ft sideways. These tires should be replaced immediately if you are in a snowy area, they are unsafe.
