I bought my FWD Edge used with 30k miles on it and it still had the OEM Hankook tires. At the time they still had a fair amount of tread life. A year and a half later I am now at 53k miles and although they are by no means completely bald, it's time for a new set.
Although I can not comment on how the tires performed when they were new, from the time I bought the car the wet traction was terrible. Any sort of spirited acceleration from a stop on a wet roadway resulted in wheelspin. Traction in the snow is very bad as well. Some of that can be blamed on the limited amount of tread remaining, but I still expected better. In any sort of wet or possibly slick conditions I find myself driving like my grandma. I currently have very little confidence in these tires on anything other than dry roads.
The positives about the tires is that they do provide a very good ride with minimal road noise. I have no complaints with dry condition performance. The Edge, of course, is not a sports car and I don't drive it like one.
As I said earlier, I can not comment on how the tires performed when new, but from my experience I would not recommend them and will not be buying another set.
