Goodyear Ultra Grip Ice WRT SUV
Follow-Up Review: 8,000 miles on tires
November 25, 2012
With these tires my ML550 felt like it was on rails. In heavy deep slush I could start, turn and stop without any wheel spin or loss of control. I put these tires on my ML after a scary experience with light slush on the highway the previous winter. With the Good Years I felt like I was on warm dry roads no matter what the weather conditions. Even on black ice, where other 4x4's were having trouble starting and stopping, my ML just behaved like I was on dry pavement. These tires make a marginal driver good, and a good driver great in winter conditions.
Initial Review: 750 miles on tires
December 02, 2011

I have only had these tires for a few weeks but have already driven them in a number of rainy, icy and light snow/slush conditions. The traction so far has been excellent and make my ML550 feel like it is on rails- no slipping, no sliding - they just dig in and plant the SUV firmly. In about 2 of wet slushy snow I didn't feel any slip or pull and the car cornered like the pavement was dry. The noise level on dry pavement at highway speeds is a bit loud but not overwhelming. Wet pavement traction is excellent. Once I have driven in deep snow I will update my review, but for now I'm completely satisfied with these tires and how they have improved cold weather performance of my ML550.
