Follow-up review to previous review in Glastonbury, CT. These tires took a ton of abuse and still performed. I used these year-round in New England and although I didn't buy them again, they lasted through 4 or 5 years of driving in mixed conditions. The Eagle GT is a conflicted tire due to its high sidewall stiffness. My 225 45 17's rode like 19's. I felt road seams and gaps harsher than with any other tire I've used. That stiffness made for excellent steering response and good cornering. I even used them as autocross tires expecting to replace them shortly. They wore faster, but evenly. Rain handling was excellent, but performance in snow was acceptable, but not great. Overall, these tires added unexpected handling capability in dry and wet, with a noise and comfort compromise. (My car is now set up pretty stiff, so I didn't appreciate the extra harshness when I upped spring rates at 25k on these tires). They were tough though - potholes, gravel, aggressive autocross didn't hurt them. Even a 2 inch step hit at 35mph that destroyed a wheel (thanks a lot, Hartford MDC) but the tire was fine. For a hundred bucks apiece they're not bad, if you can deal with the ride. I just installed a set of Michelin Pilot Super Sports and couldn't be happier, but paid 60 more per tire...
