Initial Review, 34,000 Miles on Tires

I wrote a review on here about these tires but I forgot my login. This review is based on wearing these tires out to the end.

So...at first I recall these tires being GREAT...for the money...simply awesome. I believe I had them installed for $222.48 with tax and everything. I got the front end alignment like you always should when getting new tires but then shortly after they tore up our road and I really had to bang up these tires. This was our 2nd set of General Exclaims just FYI.

The 2nd set did not perform quite as well as I remember the first. They wore out faster and at a much more cupped rate in the front, so I figure we should get an alignment but we never did and the sides started getting bald. I didn't realize though that I hade put these on at 43K and they were pretty much done for and did not handle well at all anymore like when they were new but overall it was still a great tire. The replacement tire is WAY more money. I was quoted $570 installed...LIKE DUDE...what.... General Tires installed for more than Hankook Ventus EVO's.... really?

So If you get these Exclaims, jump on them now because you'll at least get a good tire for a solid 28k for the life of the tire in Florida. I don't know how people claim they got 50k on these...unless they have a FWD car and the rears hardly wear away...but the tire I have is also cracking a bit from rot...not too bad but we have replaced the 2 front tires and swung them back to the rear with the Hankook Ventus Evo's and the stats on that tire appear much different. It's Z-rated with AA traction, not A traction and it has an extra load rating not standard. Here is what I can tell...they have softer rubber, more comfort at higher PSI and just as good traction on wet and dry but corner better. The edges of the tire are far more round than the Exclaims are. I'm hoping in the long run when we get the other 2 tires I can come back and review the Hankooks performace in 10k.
