I purchased these tires on the recommendation of my Toyota dealership as an alternative to snow tires for decent traction on Wisconsin winter roads. Just got back from a trip to the north woods for some snowshoeing and couldn't even get up my daughter's driveway which is a very very slight grade, not to mention some of the small hills driving into her property. Driving around the city on dry roads has been fine; definitely quieter and smoother than the snow tires I have been riding on these past few years, but I am going to have to invest in a set of snow tires to replace these brand new Generals for the rest of the winter so I can at least get out of my snow covered alley. These may be great tires for climates with no chance of snow, but I would not recommend them for anyone in a northern climate. Since I have now made the purchase I will probably put them back on in Spring and then get back to the snow tires in December. I have had Bridgestone Blizzaks in the past and will definitely get them again for the rest of the winter. I will have now spent every last cent on tires, but I think it's worth the investment for the confidence and safety in winter driving conditions. . . .
