Initial Review, 500 Miles on Tires
November 26, 2013

Based upon the reviews I ordered these tires from Tire Rack and they were delivered 10 days ahead of schedule. I live 1 hour North of Pittsburgh, Pa in the snow belt. I had these tires mounted one week ago.

Over the past week, dry road traction was very good. Steering response and ride comfort was tremendous. Also had no issues with wet road traction. The added bonus which I did not expect was how quiet the tire was. I had much less road noise driving 65 mph than I did with my OEM all season tires. Very Very quiet tire for me. I never would have known I had winter tires on my vehicle, except, I averaged 1.5 mpg less with these tires compared to the all season which I expected.

Today was the true test. We got 2 inches of snow overnight. Then freezing rain, then an additional 4 inches of snow, then freezing rain again. It was the perfect playground. Upon Leaving my driveway, my road goes straight up hill. With the 2 inches of snow on the ground, I pulled out onto the road, stopped in the middle of the hill and away I went. Very minimal slipping, No hesitation. Turned around and tested the tires stopping at various speeds coming down the hill in 2 inches of snow. At 5mph I stopped immediately. At 10mph I went about 4ft before stopping. At 15mph I went about 10ft before stopping. I do want to add that the vehicle stayed straight during the 4ft and 10ft stopping distances. I did not slide sideways. I could feel the tires gripping the snow and surface. That was very reassuring.

Later in the day I tested with about 4 inches of snow and slush and same result. Toward the evening it was all rain and the road had been plowed and you could see the shiny ice on the road. Exactly the same results.

In my real life tests this past week, this tire proved it rides smooth on wet and dry surfaces, is very quiet, steering response is very good, it can handle light snow, heavy snow, slush and ice. I am confident with this tire on my vehicle and now know I can go anywhere.
