General Altimax Arctic
Initial Review: 7,000 miles on tires
December 10, 2013

The General Altimax Arctic is by far the most disappointing tire purchase of my life. Loud doesn't even begin to describe the --- awful howling sound these things make at highway speeds. I would be willing to forgive the noise if their grip in the snow made up for it. It doesn't. I've run Dunlop WinterSport M3, Dunlop Graspic DS-3, Michelin Arctic Alpin, and Nokian Hakkapeliitta R winter tires. These Generals are comparable to the Michelin Arctic Alpin in their snow driving performance (another worthless winter tire), but at least the Michelins were quiet.
